Environmental Surveillance

Providing long-term monitoring of contaminants and the environment

Past operations at national defense sites in the arid West have left large quantities of hazardous materials in the environment. The EAS team collects unbiased environmental samples and data to support decision-making processes related to long-term monitoring at the Hanford Site and Umatilla Chemical Depot. We understand the importance of collecting data consistently between years and sites to ensure long-term trends can be detected.

Since 2011, EAS has been the prominent subcontractor providing dedicated support to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Public Safety and Resource Protection program. We work with Mission Support Alliance (MSA) to produce integrated, compliant, and credible information to assess and document Hanford impacts on public safety and the environment. We use scientifically sound techniques and custom-tailored technologies to locate and more precisely measure hazardous compounds in a wide range of environmental media.

EAS has been the prominent small business supporting environmental sampling on the Umatilla Chemical Depot (UMCD) since 2008. Our staff have collected hundreds of samples of soil, vegetation, and small mammals during extreme environmental conditions without a single safety incident or significant sample quality issue. EAS field teams are regarded as one of the most professional and reliable field sampling support subcontractors on the UMCD.
