Environmental sampling is part of a process scientists use to characterize and monitor the quality of the environment, including air, water, sediment, soil, plants, fish, wildlife, and other organisms. Developing a scientifically sound sampling design for environmental data collection is a fundamental part of this process. The sampling design, including appropriate sample collection and handling methods, is crucial in collecting appropriate and defensible data that accurately and precisely represent the specific problem being investigated.
Based on federal guidance, EAS uses a systematic approach to plan, collect, and analyze environmental data. We develop individual quality assurance project plans (QAPP), data quality objectives (DQO), sampling and analysis plans (SAP), and sampling and analysis instructions (SAI) to collect accurate data from which clients can draw scientifically based conclusions. In the last decade, EAS has successfully performed more than 20 environmental sampling-characterization scientific task orders for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Public Utility Districts, and private clients totaling more than $20M.
